Welcome to Press Cafe, a charming little oasis nestled on the picturesque banks of the Otaru Canal in Hokkaido. This delightful cafe embraces the essence of community and comfort, all within a beautifully renovated old warehouse that captures the nostalgia of a bygone era. It’s not just a stop for coffee; it’s a warm embrace, a unique experience waiting to unfold.

As you step inside, you'll be greeted by an eclectic decor that includes retro cars, creating a vibrant yet cozy atmosphere where the past meets present. The ambiance is complemented by soothing background music and soft lighting, making it a perfect retreat whether you're looking to unwind or to engage in lively conversation with friends.

Press Cafe offers a varied menu that appeals to a wide range of taste buds. Renowned for its fantastic garlic bread, customers rave about its irresistible flavors and satisfying crunch. Pair that with their exquisite mocha, and you have a match made in coffee heaven. For a hearty meal, try the lunch set, where you can indulge in aglio olio pasta, accompanied by a refreshing coffee and a delightful pudding, all for an incredibly reasonable price of just 1200 yen. It’s a deal that's simply too good to pass up!

But perhaps the true star of the menu is the tiramisu pancake. Imagine digging into a fluffy pancake topped with decadent mascarpone cream, a treat that would easily cost a fortune elsewhere—but here, the experience is about joy, not just price. One delighted customer exclaimed, "If I could visit again, I'd love to try the matcha pancake," indicating that there's always something new to tempt your taste buds!

The welcoming staff adds to the cafe's charm, offering a blend of friendliness and attentive service that simply enhances your experience. One visitor noted, “We really enjoyed their pasta and dessert,” illustrating the thoughtful attention paid to their culinary offerings.

Whether you’re a local or traveling to Otaru, Press Cafe is not just a place to grab a bite to eat; it’s an experience that encapsulates the heart of the community and the richness of Hokkaido’s café culture. So, if you find yourself wandering near the beautiful old Temiya rail, make sure to step inside and create some delicious memories!

We stumbled upon Press café on our afternoon stroll along the old Temiya rail in the north Otaru canal area. It's in an old warehouse that's been renovated. What a pleasant surprise! Not only the MG Midget on the floor, we really enjoyed their pasta and desert. The staff are very friendly and sweet. We will definitely be back and introduce some friends to this great little café!

Super nice place! Very cozy, excellent ambience, and perfect location next to the canal to warm up. Looks like a nice family-run place and nice atmosphere with excellent pastries + tea

The retro cars at the entrance are surprising, and the retro style inside the restaurant makes old car fans happy.

Dropped this Cool Café for a Cuppa & Double Cheesecake! Cool decor in the middle of the Café. Owner/ Chef & Staff are friendly. It's been 2-years since our visit. All our pasta dish, garlic bread & teramisu pancake was delicious! The service, waitress was extremely slow. Requested ice water refills several times, during our setting. I finally stood up and walked over to the counter to top off my water glass. I cleared our finished dishes to the side, able to make room for the dessert. I hope management reads this review so they're aware to fix the issue.

Gorgeous welcoming café. We visited on a super cold and snowy day, entering this warm café was the right thing to do. The lights are dimmed to the point that the atmosphere becomes very relaxing and intimate. Relaxing music is diffused in the whole café and the staff was very kind. The coffee and cake were both good, would love to come back.

We found this cafe by coincidence when we were taking a walk along the canal. It is a cute cafe with vintage atmosphere. We ordered cappuccino and Hokkaido cheese cake, and the taste was amazing (probably thanks to Hokkaido milk). Love everything here.
